SABLA ANNUAL GALA
The San Antonio Black Lawyers Association Gala is a much-awaited occasion that brings together legal professionals, community leaders, and advocates for diversity and inclusion. The primary goal of this event is to raise funds for scholarships that will help deserving minority law students and high schoolers pursue their legal education and foster a more diverse and equitable legal profession.

In addition to raising funds to provide scholarships to San Antonio area law students and high school students, the annual gala provides an exceptional opportunity to honor those who have distinguished themselves in the profession through trailblazing efforts, outstanding achievement, or judicial service.
The Legend Award
Recognizes an outstanding attorney who has made advancements throughout their legal career to promote excellence within the legal community through their involvement with bar work, community activities, and the legal profession.
The awardee must be a licensed attorney for 25 years or more and is actively involved in the San Antonio community.

The President's Award
Recognizes an outstanding attorney who-through professional and personal endeavors, displays an unwavering commitment to supporting the mission of the San Antonio Black Lawyers Association. The organization's mission is to promote, increase, and support the presence of black lawyers in the greater San Antonio area by offering citizens diversity when seeking legal representation.
The awardee must be licensed for more than ten years and less than 25 years.

The Future Legend Award
Recognizes an outstanding attorney who has made advancements early in their legal career worthy of recognition for one or more accomplishments that have promoted the ideals of the San Antonio Black Lawyers Association.
The awardee must be a licensed attorney actively involved in the San Antonio community for ten years or less.

The Law Student Award
Recognizes a St. Mary's University School of Law student who has significantly impacted the university's Black Law Students Association and law community. The recipient of this award should embody a trailblazer's ambition, tenacity, and resilience.

The Clarence McGowan Award
Recognizes an outstanding individual of the San Antonio community who has made a significant and lasting impact on the practice of law, education, or the community at large through their professional accomplishments and dedication through service. Recipients of this award should exhibit the initiative and relentless efforts of the servant-leader, Clarence McGowan.
